"Do the best and God will do the rest"
The best moment I ever had in my life… I think God always makes every moment in our life as a sweet moment. Because have a bad day, make us know what is a good one. We never know what happiness is if we never feel the sadness. That’s why I think every moment in my life is a sweet moment, even if it was a bad day.
But from every moment I ever had in my life, there is one moment that I’ve been dreamed of since I was a kid, and God made my dream come true. Since I was a kid, when I saw ceremony of Independence’s Day in President Palace on TV, I told my mom "one day I’ll be there, I’ll meet the president directly and I’ll be one of the great people who invited to celebrate our independence’s day in president palace". Then my mom said, "I wish u will and I’ll be proud of you if you invited to celebrate our independence’s day, there". Yeah, to visit the president palace is one of my obsessions and I believe the dream that I call obsession will come true if I do my best to reach it.
There is a competition that can bring me to get the invitation to celebrate august 17th in president palace. It’s the highest achievement student. It’s a competition for university student, where Directory General of Higher Education (DIKTI) chooses fifteen best students from all over Indonesia to compete in Jakarta. As a student of a private school I have to compete not only in my university but also in KOPERTIS, before I can compete in National level. I can compete in KOPERTIS if I win the competition in my university, and to compete in National level, I have to get at least the third place in KOPERTIS VII, Surabaya. And if I want to compete in Jakarta or chosen as national best fifteen, I have to compete with all best students from all over Indonesia.
On May 2007, I’ve chosen as the highest achievement student in my university. Then In KOPERTIS VII, I also got the first place in this competition. So I joined the first selection in National level, where DIKTI choose 15 best students by check the document that sent to them from every best student in this country.
I’ll never forget that day; it was in the morning of the second day in August 2007. I got a message from DIKTI that I’ve chosen as one of the highest achievement student that will compete in Jakarta on August 13th-18th, 2007. Can you imagine what I feel that day? I was very happy, because I’ve chosen as one of fifteen best students in this country. I called my parent and told them that news, and you know how proud they are to me. They called me all the time, just to ask when I will go to Jakarta, where will I stay there, who will be with me to go there, and everything. I think I have not told you yet that my parent is in Borneo Island, that’s why we just communicated by phone.
As National Best fifteen of The Highest Achievement Student, we got the invitation to celebrate our independence’s day, august 17th 2007 in president palace. It was not the only surprise we got, the day before we also invited to House of Representative (DPR/MPR) to hear annually report of our President, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Then in the afternoon, we met Indonesian Minister of Education, Bambang Sudibyo, in his office.
That’s all what I’ve been dreamed since I was a kid. To be one of the best students in this country, visit president palace and celebrate our independence’s day there, visit house of representative, met the minister of education, met the minister of foreign affair, and many great people in this country. But the most important of all, I made my parent proud of me. For me, my parent is everything. My parent is angels that God send to me to love me, save me, cure me, and brighten my day.
That’s one of the reason why I believe "nothing is impossible in this world, as long as we try to reach it". And I’m sure I’ll get my other dream, get a scholarship to study abroad for my master’s degree and Doctorates. If I have graduated from my Philosophical Doctorates, I want to spend my life to help people by join a community involvement like UNESCO, or other. I believe God send me to this world to make a change and help other people to enjoy every great moment in their life, and every people deserve to get it.
